Awakening in the Temple of Spirit:
    Orienting to our Spiritual Home

A First Class Conference of the School of Spiritual Science
    for Professionals who work Psychotherapeutically

    September 12 (15:00) - September 15 (12:15), 2026
    Goetheanum, Dornach, Switzerland
    Blue Cards Required

Once we have crossed the threshold into the spiritual world, we must orient ourselves to this new world, to this new form of existence. We must navigate many reversals. Where we were once passive recipients, we must now become active builders. Where we were once active out of our own self-will, we must now become receptive to the deeds and speech of the hierarchies. We stand on a vista encompassing both past and future, both subject and object, and must find our stance in the middle. From the middle space, the present-moment feeling ourselves within spirit, we begin to discover and explore our home in spirit. We meet our higher self and become both perceptive and active in this new world. We learn to stand on a spiritual foundation stone and perceive a world filled with the activity of many beings including the Gods who create the very foundation of our existence, our bodily nature. With true meditative forces, we create a temple which enables us to commune with spirit.

Our First Class conference for psychotherapists will work with Class Lessons 10 and 11. These lessons do not speak directly of the guardian, but rather our “I” begins to orient itself in the spiritual world. Class Lesson 10 brings a 12-fold mantram which helps us orient to the experience of earth, stars, deeds of the spirits, and speech of the Gods, utilizing body-free thinking, feeling, and willing. In Class Lesson 11, we discover from a spiritual perspective with the help of our angel how our threefold physical form created by the Gods allows us to build a temple for our spirit, enabling us to be, to live, and to will.

How does this new perspective, grounded in real spiritual experience and knowledge, impact us and our work with our fellow human beings? How can our newfound orientation in spirit contribute to healing for our clients? How can our knowledge of the temple of the body, created for us by the hierarchies, inform our healing work?

The conference is participatory, with small group work. The conference will include Class Lessons, conversations, and eurythmy.

Interested First Class members from healing professions are welcome to attend, especially psychotherapists and all professionals who work in a psychotherapeutic way with clients. Please bring your School of Spiritual Science blue card for admittance. The conference will be offered in the English language, with additional reading of the mantras in German.

To receive further emails about this conference, and to register, please email the initiative group with your contact information at FCPsych@GoogleGroups.com. Your email is your registration; there is no online form. Please arrive on September 12, 2026, at 15:00 (3pm), with cash to support the conference.

    Warmly,

Giovanna Bettini, Wolfgang Drescher, Jacqueline Gerbrands, Boris Krause, Susan Overhauser, Tatiana Pavlova, and Ursula Schöbel

    International Annual Conference

    Standing on the Abyss –

    Trauma, Development and Resilience

    16–20 September 2026

at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland

    Dear colleagues, dear friends,

We are in a turbulent time with a feeling of many quickly-approaching thresholds. Change comes rapidly and in unexpected ways. Some shifts are a clear call for more wakefulness, part of the time of the consciousness soul. Other changes bring painful chaos, separation, trauma and loss – with the border between these two types of experiences not always clear.

At our annual medical section conference, we will strive to create a protected space to explore both the wounds and scars that come with trauma, as well as gaining a deeper understanding of mostly unexpected developments in spiritual growth and new resilience.

How can we interact with the world and our fellow human beings in a helpful and healing way during this time? What are we being called to do?

    A selection of planned lectures:

    • Trauma and Evil from an Anthroposophic Perspective | Nurit Rosengarten, Hanan Goldman
    • The Individualism and Trauma: 'The ethical view of the injured envelopes of the "I" | Oswald Hasselmann
    • Post-traumatic Growth and Resilience | Zheni Nasi, Adam Blanning

    A selection of working groups:

    • Cancer diagnosis as trauma – The physiological and spiritual Background of Cancer | Julia Babics, Zita Pogány

    • Addressing developmental trauma through eurythmy therapy | Mary Ruud

    • Practical approach to the treatment of acute stress reaction / disorder and PTSD | Meron Barak, Yoray Simatov

We look forward to seeing you again or meeting you for the first time!

Best greetings, on behalf of the preparation group

Marion Debus, Karin Michael, Adam Blanning

    Psychotherapy Specialist Conference
    presented by IFAPA

    16–19 September 2026

During the Annual Medical Section Conference
at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland

Dear Friends of Anthroposophic Psychology and Psychotherapy,

As in years past, the International Federation of Anthroposophic Psychotherapy Associations (IFAPA), of which AAP is a member, is organizing a hybrid Psychotherapy Specialist Conference during the Annual Medical Section Conference in Dornach, which begins Wednesday, September 16 and ends Sunday, September 20, 2026.

This year’s Medical Section Conference is dedicated entirely to trauma, as ever-present war and violence, both in real and virtual settings, increases and children are subject to physical and sexual abuse, including in online settings, where those tasked with guiding them may be dissociated because of their own use of social media in the presence of children.

The hybrid conference is open to all, not only licensed professionals, and will take place as follows (all times CEST):

Wednesday, September 16, 4:30 pm to 6 pm

    Opening of the Forum:

    • Future trauma-related disorders and pathophysiological consequences from parent/caregiver emotional and mental absence due to media use in the child’s presence with Hartmut Horn, MD, Germany
    • Early childhood traumatization—intergenerational impact of parental dissociation with Henriette Dekkers, Lic. Psychologist, Netherlands
    • The therapeutic process in serious early traumatized persons with Susan Overhauser, Lic. Psychologist, USA

Thursday, September 17, 4:30 pm to 6 pm

    • Drug treatment and psychotherapy in traumatized schoolchildren in the Parzival-Center, Karlsruhe, Germany, with Hartmut Horn, MD

    • Treatment of schoolchildren with social trauma with Swapna Narendra, MD, India

Friday, September 18, 4:30 pm to 6 pm

    • On traumatizing influences upon adolescents in the social context with Lisa Devine, Lic. Psychologist, Australia
    • The impact of effective media education on the development of family systems with David Martin, MD, Germany

Saturday, September 19, 4:30 pm to 6 pm

    • The Ukrainian presentation of the above quoted problems with Nairine Maltseva, Psychotherapist, and Yevhen Volchenko, MD, from Kiev, Ukraine
    • Love, hope and trust in a social cohesion with Vasuprada Kartic, Lic. Psychotherapist, India, and Giovanna Bettini, Lic. Psychotherapist, Italy
    • The Harvest of the Conference—Closure with Henriette Dekkers and Hartmut Horn

This conference will be run in hybrid format, in English, with translations into Spanish, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, and German provided.

Online participants need Zoom access and will receive a link to their respective language channel two days before the conference.

If interested, you may register through AAP in the following steps:

    • Write a note to Rick Ruffin, AAP Secretary, at rruffin@leader.com, with your full name, licensed profession (if the case), e-mail address, the language channel you want to attend, and indicate your method of payment (directly to IFAPA or via PayPal).

    • Both routes are to the attention of IFAPA Treasurer Ellen Moses and should note that the payment is for the September 2026 Specialist Psychotherapy Conference.
