Psychotherapy must be founded anew out of the consciousness soul, and must be a spiritual activity, the psychotherapist's 'anthroposophical task.' - Rudolf Steiner
Join us in building a new community of psychotherapy clinicians in North America working out of Anthroposophy!
The Association for Anthroposophic Psychology is excited to announce a certification program in Anthroposophic Psychotherapy beginning in October 2023 for all licensed clinicians who have completed or are currently enrolled in AAP’s 3 year foundation program in Anthroposophic Psychology. The Anthroposophic Psychotherapy Certification Program (APCP) is the first training of its kind in North America to bring the wisdom of the anthroposophic understanding of the human experience into the psychotherapeutic encounter. We will be exploring:
- how anthroposophy informs what we do in psychotherapy
- how to enhance our ability to assess, diagnose, and treat according to anthroposophic principles
- anthroposophic perspectives on mood disorders, impulse disorders, trauma, crises in development, psychosis, and threshold experiences
- how to integrate body, soul, and spirit in the psychotherapeutic process
- working directly with relationality as a means of spiritual endeavor
- client case presentations
This program is a two year program that meets in 6 online weekend modules with one in-person module at Camphill Village Kimberton Hills (Phoenixville, PA) in August 2024. The program includes two Monday evening online meetings per month (less holidays) for educational activities and case study. Participants who complete the full program will be eligible for certification as an Anthroposophic Psychotherapist, a certification recognized internationally by the medical section of the Goetheanum.
