Certification Program in Anthroposophic Psychotherapy

Program Structure

The full training program in Anthroposophic Psychotherapy consists of 3 years; participants enroll in each year separately.  The program for each year consists of two parts:  seminars, and an online program (Certification Track).

Part I:  Seminars

3 seminars per year, in March/April, July/August, and October/November*, in-person at Camphill Village Kimberton Hills, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.

The seminars that are focused on personality (the 2022 program) will be 6-day seminars, while other seminars will be 5 days (in 2023 and 2024).  Thus, tuition in 2023 and 2024 will be slightly lower.  A unique aspect of AAP’s clinical program is that in the first year, we will begin with the Personality and Personality Disorders seminars inaugurated by James Dyson, MD and others, adding extra sessions to focus on clinical implications and psychotherapeutic indications.

Part II:  Online Program and Certification Track

5-7 Online Webinars per year

5-7 Case Consultation Meetings per year

The online program will take place on Mondays, 7:00-8:30 ET for online meetings, 7:00-9:00pm ET for case presentations and consultations.  These meetings will occur during each of the seven months that we are not meeting in a seminar, and also not in December -- the months of:  April, May, June, September, October, January, and February.1  During each of these months there will be 2 meetings, one online meeting, and one case consultation meeting, each on a Monday evening.

The case consultation meetings will be facilitated, and we will break into groups to allow more participation by each member.  We will begin with case consultation, and as we progress more formal case presentations will occur.  Each participant who wants certification will need to complete three written case presentations, including a final case presentation which is also oral (during the course of the 2-3 year training program).

Online meetings provide an opportunity to include topics beyond those in the seminars, and include studying texts together, specific topics required for certification, guest speakers, alternate modalities, ethics and special topics.

Members of the certification track will also have access to an email list which we can use to respond to readings, ask questions, and support each other’s growth in anthroposophic psychotherapy.

An optional component of the training is the availability of individual mentoring and consultation from certain faculty members, at additional cost.

1Please note that exact dates are subject to change as conditions fluctuate regarding the ability of trainers and participants to travel freely.
